Polymaker PolyLite LW-PLA (Lightweight PLA)

PolyLite™ LW-PLA is a special pre-foamed PLA designed to print with similar settings as regular PLA but with half the weight. Unlike active foaming filaments, it is foamed during manufacturing, so it delivers consistently low density without printing at very high temperatures — no stringy 250°C prints required. Lower printing temperature means higher print quality.

Density (foamed): 0.9 g/cm³

Print Settings

• Printing temperature: 190°C – 210°C
• Bed temperature: 30°C – 50°C
• Printing speed: 25 mm/s – 60 mm/s
• Part cooling fan: ON
• Direct drive retraction: 3 mm / 40 mm/s — indirect drive: 6 mm / 60 mm/s
• Drying (only if the material has absorbed moisture): 55°C for 6 h

Printing Requirements

• None! Prints great on any stock FDM 3D printer — just print slower on stock, older style printers.
• LW-PLA tends to print hairy even with the best settings — a light blast with a heat gun or a scrape with a razor will remove the stray strands.
